I do. This legislation may be going nowhere-yet-but is forcing legislators to look at Iraq more closely. It's an important discussion for congress to have and for media to bring to the American people. At least Democrats (and a few Republicans) are trying. I read one Republican Senator, who voted against the resolution, at least said he wants to see results in Iraq or he hinted he may be supporting the resolution next time. And, yes, we have real discussion about the question "What is a stable Iraq?" and "What does success in Iraq look like?"

well... I think it depends a lot on what happens between now and then... what happens right now has little effect as most will be long fogotten by the next election...
But to be frank... Bush is the dems best friend... his constant bumbling and "it has to be my way" attitude isn't what the people want...
and the Democrats are doing exactly what they campaigned on... 90 percent campaigned on setting deadlines to move toward getting out of Iraq in a year or two... and that's what they are trying to do...
and I think we're about as close to stable as it's going to be for a long while...

I think they will end up losing seats. The Dems have not told the people what they are FOR. We know what they are AGAINST and that is the Bush Administration.

The Dumbocrats will gain short term popularity untill their appeasement policies let the terrorists launch another big attack on our country. Then the survivors may wake up and try to get people into the government who will stand up to the people who want us all to die and go to hell, rather than try to "understand" them. I hope that none of my loved ones or friends end up as former residents of the glowing crater which will be their former city.

This legislation will seriously hurt the democrats. The far left democrats will not be satisfied with anything less than complete withdrawal and capitulation. The more Conservative democrats are getting angrier and angrier at the leadership bowing to the leftys. If the senate does not seriously gut this bill and if the president stands behind his promise to veto it it will bring much more pressure on the already crumbling democrat coalition.
We shall see.

Democrats with drawing support for our fighting forces will only hurt their chances in the future. They have to April 15Th to straighten it out, or they will pay the price.

I believe the dems are simply demonstrating their impotency. The world will now see how little they understand, and moreover how they are so concerned with politics and gaining power that they willfully ignore the safety and well being of the entire world.

yes, it will.
if the republicans that survive from the rubber stamp congress don't wake up and start to do their jobs, they will all be out of a job soon.
