I had a "friend" like that myself once. Guess what? We're not friends anymore. I think it's time you call it quits with that friend of yours. End it now before it gets really ugly. Friends support--they don't compete. Friends share--they don't compare. This should be a personal relationship; not a competition.

Friends are there to support you and not judge you. If competing with you is all she has to offer in a friendship then thats not a friend it is the opposite.
If she is a true friend then being open and honest with her is the only way to go. Help her find something or someone else to focus her competitiveness on. Maybe this will lure her away from competing with you.

I'd say there is no changing her.... but maybe talking to her about it or just slipping in a comment about how its not a competition. she might get the idea that you're not down with competing for who has a better life. good luck!

Some people have a very competitive nature. I am that way and my husband points it out all the time (it drives him crazy sometimes). That is just in her personality, and if you are true frineds, you will accept that as being a part of her.

Ugh, that would be so annoying. I dn't know what you could do though, she probably doesn't even realize she's doing it. Some people are just like that. Maybe next time she does it, you could crack a "joke" and say something like, "yea, well, everything you do is better than me...". Maybe she'll take a hint.
