I installed an Appian Gemini dual head PCI card. When I make the second monitor active and extrend my desktop onto that monitor, all that happens is that the second screen is on, but completely black, and the main screen shows only a blank desktop, no icons. Anyone know how to fix this??

A few things to try.....
1) Make sure you have the absolute latest driver for your graphics card.
2) Use one monitor and bootup into Windows like normal. Make sure everything loads, your desktop, etc. Then go into your Display settings and extend it to the other monitor.
3) Check the input settings on the monitors. Go into the settings on the monitor (the button on the front f the monitor) and make sure you've tried all the different inputs such as VGA, DVI, etc. Of course you'll want VGA. It may be set to DVI, who knows.
One of those should fix your problem.
