I agree with the poster who said we do, to a certain extent, choose when and how we die. We make choices every day about what we put into our bodies and the activities in which we engage. These impact our outcomes. We can also choose to put a bullet in our brain or jump off a bridge if we're not happy. Of course those choices can't prevent my getting hit by a bus later today, but, if that's to happen, it's to happen. Maybe it'd my own fault for not paying attention - another choice.
I disagree, however, with the poster who said that everyone would want to live forever. Man, I do NOT want to live forever. I'll enjoy the time I have, but when it's over, it's over. Put a fork in me and let me feed the worms and push up the daisies.
If you're referring to euthanasia, definitely, we should be able to determine when and how to die. So, everyone, make your wishes official; write up your will and advanced directives today!

I think if you want to die before your time you would have to have a medical problem that could not be cured or you would have to be at least 65. It would be another means of controlling the population. You would also have to be of sound mind and assessed properly by more than one professional. If able a video and journals could be done of your life to date, sharing your knowledge, advice, ideas etc. How you would die would be by injection. Yes I think we should have the right to choose.

Yes of course we should. It is the right of every adult on this planet to do so. It is their choice whether or not to exercise that right.
Euthanasia is another matter as you are bringing another person into the whole process and potentially damaging their mental health.
Verdict - Suicide is fine, we all have the right. Euthanasia is a more complicated subject which I don't have time to go into here.

I think in most cases people cling to life as a natural thing to do. Probably more so now than in anytime in history because with efficient pain relief and I wonder if the person that is dying, knows what is happening to them.

You do have the right, if you choose it to be a right. No-one should have the right but you.

The when of it, in most cases, no. You do have a social responsibilty. Only in cases of death certain, should it be allowed. How, most definitely. Death with dignity is everyones right.

I think if you are in pain from an incurable illness and want to die a dignified death, it should be your choice.

If it's before our natural expiration date, yah. Of course we wouldn't be able to foresee accidents and plane crashes and stuff, but if we're 75 and we're just done with life, yah, we should be able to choose, "October 17, Death by firing squad."
I'd make invitations to *my* death.
