The get a boyfriend before 18 was the main one and to get that part of life sorted.
Also to pick a course work backwards ie you want to get into film get a part time job as a runner then ask them for advice where to go and what to learn or contact them and look in job adverts.
Go travelling and move out even if parents funding you at 18 if not in uni and travel the world.
Social skills and common senxe are needed more the acedmeic...
Look and find out what experience the career you want , actually looks for and what puts them off.
Quite frankly if femlae Id suggest become a pole dancer.
You can earn £800 a night... you get fit, you can buy a house for cash in two years if sensible (ie no drugs or jewels)
Ie earing nearly £200,000 a year
then when have house and no mortage etc next year put in savings for pensions etc.
One more year and you can live off the interest then go to uni then travel. on the money and you have a load to fall back on, pay for training and maybe fund a new business...
Plus nice abs, bicepts and fit.
Sex wise use condoms AND depro injects ie two types (pills get forgotton).
Treat others how you expect to be treated but dont let others walk over you.
Date your best male mates not some bad boy jerk.

That's a great question! I will be turning 41 in a week and would give anything to be 17 again! My biggest mistake was not being happy that I was 17 and wishing I was older. I also spent ALL of my time making sure I had a boyfriend.

Choose a descent course at uni! Because course like Media, Psychology and Art are generally a waste of time unless you can apply them and you can get experience whilst your doing the course. So many jobs for graduates require experience, but no way of getting it!
In fact I'm starting to think that uni was a complete waste of time and money - just get out on the career ladder as soon as you can!

even tho you have a good job, try doing a part time course in something to stimulate your mind, get a savings account, and start saving some dosh, dont get married to this guy wait until you know you are ready, as you have the rest of your life yet! and always fulfil your dreams, no matter what the cost, as one day you will regret not doing the things that you always wanted to!! just enjoy life, but dont take anything for granted, because thaings can change quicker than you think!!!

Get a college degree! Get your bachelor's degree in anything. Just do not fail to do this while you are young. Even if it's in a subject you aren't sure you want to do -- teaching, law, accounting, business. Just get that degree while you're young. You can expand later and make it work into a job you want. Don't put this off! You will never ever ever EVER regret getting a college degree [NOT education. DEGREE! Graduate, or it's all for naught.]

I can think of several things now that I'm in my mid-50's, but the one thing I would change is that I would have never started smoking cigarettes. Be aware that you will make mistakes and learn from them, but if you can avoid doing something stupid then, don't do it. Listen to your inner voice, if you think something you are about to do is wrong, then follow your own advice.

At 17 I wish i had someone who told me that if someone put me down and made me sad they didnt love me and I should go for the one who doesnt despite all the obstacles around us.
I wish that I had known that I should love myself and not let someone make me doubt myself or think that I am a terrible person.
Good luck and enjoy the rest of your teenage years (its a minefield)

1) Dont get pregnant
2) Focus on your education/career ambitions
3) Do not fall in love until you have accomplished the above point (you'll only get distracted)
3) Have safe sex
4) Don't spend all the money you earn at once
5) Remember your not 17 forever, so enjoy it while you can!

You sound as if you are in control of yourself already. The only advice I can give you, is to keep a sense of your self-worth. Don't ever let anyone make you feel inadequate, be kind to people and don't do anything to another person that you wouldn't like done to yourself. Most of all, have faith in yourself.
