Not really, because many who consider themselves philosophically-minded, become fairly snooty about it and generally think everyone else is beneath them. More often than not, these people are not nearly as "philosophically-minded" as they believe themselves to be, and are utter bores. If you don't believe this, ask anyone who once belonged to MENSA, attended the meetings, and opted-out from sheer boredom and an overdose of the conceited, condescending personalities in that group. Not only that, but have you ever checked out the people on Yahoo who think they are part of the intelligentsia? Most of them are NOT in spades! The idea of dating network is to meet all sorts of different people who can offer all sorts of different things.

That's an interesting idea, but I don't think it'd work. In all my years of studying philosophy and talking with other "philosophically-minded folks," the one thing I've noticed is that most of them like the sound of their own voices above all else, that, like spreading peacock feathers, philosophers like to flaunt how smart and insightful they think they are. That's not someone I'd want to date. I must admit, I had sort of a crush on one of my instructors, who was very humble and seemed to offer more questions than answers - and, boy, was he beautiful, but he stopped talking to me after I made a crack about his odd relationship with Sokrates. My point being, I'll stick with my partner, who isn't the most philosophically-minded person, but is still smart, loyal, funny, fun, generous, and honest. Since he's organized and business-like and I'm scattered and humanities-minded, we both make up for what the other lacks. We're like the yin and the yang. Anything different, if he was just like me, would be like talking to myself... and I already do that enough.

But, if you want a site to connect with others who think they know everything or have an answer for everything, hosting your own website isn't that expensive or that hard anymore. Maybe you've just found your goldmine.

Good luck!

Sure, why not. After all to single/moms like me, we're all here to see what is inside everyone's mind.
I wouldn't mind someone to debate with.=)
