I had it placed in 3 weeks ago and have not stopped spotting since...is this normal...I think my body rejects the progestin hormone had the same problem for two years with depo provera... anyone else have the same problem??? And will ibprofuen help to stop the problem?? I think the nurse told me to take Ibprofuen with Depo? Any opinions??

You can expect on and off spotting any where from 3-6 months after having the IUD placed (it was 6 mnths for me). Not sure about the ibuprofen. If you wait it out it is well worth it. I love it!! I no longer have PMS or painful heavy periods.

I had the exact problem with the IUD and the Depo. Ibprofen didn't help me. I had the IUD removed after 4 months of daily spotting and now use the Nuva ring which works great.

yes i think it's normal. my midwife told me i could spot lightly with mirena for up to 4 months and my gyno said some women spot for 6 months. i ended up having too many problems(besides bleeding) and had mine out after 5 months. I also had problems with Depo

I have one. I had it for three years now. I love it. I spotted alot in the in the first month. But it does get better if you can wait it out some. After 6 month I stopped getting my period.
