OK, now what do you think of a nation that would stand idly by while a much weaker nation was being terrorized by a horrible leader (such as Saddam) or another country against the tyranny of a large country (such as when Iraq invaded Kuwait)

This is a great question, and I love the analogy. Who helps the helpless? How can we hope to make this a better world when we won't stand up and do something to correct injustice?

BTW - you forgot to mention the 180,000+ Kurds Saddam murdered.

Also, the reason there is not total peace in Iraq at this moment is because of Radical Islam. Not the U.S. The deaths are entirely on the heads of the hate filled maniacs who strap bombs to themselves and detonate in public places, looking for maximum casualties.

My biggest fear is that this civil war that has been raging internally in Islam for hundreds of years will not end in Iraq. I don't know if the division in our country created by the waffling liberals will help us to subdue the violence there.

I dont think the correct reaction is to shoot the woman in the face. And shooting both the woman and the man, is mass murder. How is that for an analogy.

Also isnt it convenient that you just choose not to see all of the other "women" being beaten up and killed in the bar named "Darfur" and things like that. Yes, you are a real "gentleman".

I am not surprised by someone like you suggesting that women are helpless and vulnerable either.

A great analogy.

Turning your back in both cases would be like being accomplice.

You know, it occurs to me that if the Iraqis really wanted Saddam out of there, they would have done it themselves. Lord knows they've proven their ability to make life difficult for the current government when they put their minds to it.

They may not have *liked* Saddam all that much, and yes he did many horrible things, but if they disliked him as much as we tell them they did, then wouldn't they have done something to oust him from power themselves?

Just a thought.

(Go ahead, rate me badly for daring to think differently from yourselves. Boo. Hiss. I don't care.)
