there were reports a few years back about adam gilchrist getting watched by scouts for an american baseball team. they were interested in his sheer hitting power and good eye for the ball. but gilly was good at cricket for one reason, he loved the game. and playing cricket for australia was all he wanted

I think cricket players would be able to hit in baseball and baseball players would be able to field in cricket. Although, I don't think cricketers could field a baseball or baseballers could hit at cricket. Well enough to be good that is...

Pitching/bowling I'm undecided. Two entirely different motions.

My opinion is that baseball is a much harder sport to field in and cricket is a harder sport to hit in. I've played both and that's what I found.

They'd get confused.

The batting techniques are completely different...in baseball you must swing across the path of the ball, but in cricket you must swing in line with the ball.

Also, bowlers in cricket are not allowed to bend their elbow when delivering the ball, but baseball pitchers do that automatically.

Fielding is fairly similar, although it must help to catch when you have a big mitt on one hand. Plus there is no real equivalent of the split-second reaction slip catch in baseball.

Both will be utter failure as both games requires different techniques.
