USB to RS232 through Bluetooth?

The whole setup looks like this: the computer has Bluetooth device in its USB port. The other Bluetooth device is an RS232 adapter. The two devices pair, but they won't send data. My question is: should the Bluetooth connection automatically convert the USB signal to RS232, or would both adapters need to be the same (both USB or both RS232)?

They can work either way.
The issue may be more with the device configuartion ... test them individually first.
