they sure can get them if you delete a file, it isn't really gone because Windows just marks the space they occupied as being available.. for a free solution dowload and use Sure Delete

Reformatting will wipe everything, which might not be that useful for you.

Running the defragmenter will help with files you deleted using the recycle bin [as already mentioned, Windows doesn't write over files you delete, it just declares them to be empty space which may be written over the next time you save something] which 'tidies' the disk and will also make your computer run slightly sweeter.

No, simple deletion is absolutely not enough.
I would recommend you 2 software of PC Mesh.
www.pcmesh.com
You can decide which one is more appropriate for your case.
1. PC Mesh Internet clean up
2. PC Mesh Data Recovery and Wipe

The first one is to delete you internet tracks.
The second one wipes/shreds the data you have deleted so it (the data) will be not available on your PC. Probably you will need this one now.

I like privacy when I am using my computer. I have bought the all-products pack of PCMesh. They have different software to protect the privacy and I have been very satisfied.
