It's not about memorizing, it's about being able to use the information. Even doctors who write textbooks often have to search their own books for an answer they've forgotten.

To memorize though 1) read over and over 2) take notes, write out what you have studied on other paper (in your own words, don't plagairize) 3) highlight things 4) read the same thing written in different ways by different authors 5) read it aloud to someone else 6) draw it (or doodle illustrations of what you learn 7) sing it.

Seriously, memory is about repetition and alteration of information.

Ooh, the best way i was ever shown to memorise things is to voice record the info onto a dictaphone or tape player and play it in your spare time, especially when you are going to sleep as it is still said to filter through to your memory. This is the method I always use before exams.

You better learn how to spell first silly!
Try using as many colours as possible as highlights- or group all the one subcategories together with one colour highlight, another colour for another sub-category, etc.

Use silly rhymes, turn your notes into tunes anything that will involve more than just rote systems of memorisation.

Try giving yourself mini pop-quizes.
