How can it be shameful? If you care enough about yourself that you want to wait for the right person then good luck to you! But in this day and age when girls are getting pregnant at 11 or 12, there is so much peer pressure to 'do it' that it's unusual to still be a virgin at twenty. At the end of the day it's YOUR choice so ignore the ones who dont agree they probably wish they had waited!

It is noble - not shameful. Anyone who argues over something like this and tries to make you feel bad for having high standards and waiting for the right person, is merely covering up their own insecurities with this very issue, either out of guilt, shame, embarrassment or whatever. If they were really okay with their own viewpoints on the subject, they would not have such a strong need to compel you to do as they do and believe as they believe. Hang in there and stay true to yourself.

No, not at all. Ignore all the pressure. I think in this day and age and the fact that sex is around us all so much, one who can remain a virgin up to 10 is lucky! Wheter your reasons are a religious one or the fact that you haven't found 'the one' I think it takes a strong minded person to have such priorties. Not shameful at all!

yes because the reason why you should as a teenager is surrounded by other begineers going though the same thing.
Now you only have a couple at work so very little chance of getting started and can only date like 16 year olds having the same begineer level experience and wanting to do all the beginner stuff.
Stop ruining your life and missing out as those your age no longer want to do the early stuff like making out in cars.
And trying to pull in a club is like trying to go for a job with no experience when they want 5 years exp.

no its not a shameful thing. Its a great thing. I know someone who is in there late 20's and still is... and i believe that people are just jealous and have their own regrets. Keep waiting... when the time is right, you'll know!!! Good luck!

No, not at all. I wished I had waited longer. The thing is just to lose your virginity for the sake of it is sad and disappointing and you should feel sorry for those people. Really great sex happens when you are ready for it, right person, time and place and you have no std's to worry about. Let it happen when its right for you so you have something to cherish and not something (not great, disappointing etc) just to brag about.

No, it's not shameful. What is shameful is that people are pressured into having sex before they are ready for it, and then they don't enjoy it so much. Some people aren't ready by the time they're 30.

There is no shame at being a virgin at any age for either men or women.
Young men often think they have to prove their worth as a stud to make them more of a man. Of course it doesnt do any such thing - it just increases their chances of STD.
Girls who lose their virginity too early often regret it later and open themselves to the risk of unwanted pregnancy.
Better to wait and have sex with someone you care about and can explore your mutual sexuality to both your satisfaction that a quick grope and shag just to keep up with your peers.
