Absolutely not! The head gasket is the seal between the engine block and the cylinder head(s). This repair can range from just the gasket to having to overhaul the engine. I would have the seller perform the repair before the sale. You could get burned big time buying a car in need of a major engine repair.

It depends on the price of the car and the price to repair the gasket. The car will have to be fixed. Take the price of the car and add the cost to repair, if it's still worth it then buy. But be careful the gasket could be a only one problem the car might have.

Car engines need the head gasket, it seals the cylinders and allows the engine to run.
A head gasket can be a simple repair, depending on the car involved or it can indicate severe engine problems.
Best to stay away from that car.

Most of the time a blown head gasket is caused by an overheated engine, even if you fix the head gasket there is likely to be other damage as well and you still have the issue of why the engine overheated in the first place.

Hi. The head gasket keeps the coolant out of the cylinders. That's why the car is for sale!

not a good idea unless you are buying the car several thousand dollars below book value....head gasket jobs CAN be very expensive, and there could be other damage caused by the leaking head gsket that you won't know about until that part is fixed. with all of the good used cars out there...i thnk i would pass on this one.

it depends! how much is she paying for the car?if she is getting it cheap enough, then it would pay her to get a new gasket,if the heads not warped.if the heads not warped, then a gasket wouldnt be bad,but like i said,it depends on how much she is paying for the car,and is the car worth putting money into it.

if the car is in good condition and runs great other then the bad head gasket i would, its just gonna cost like $500 to put a new one in because they have to take the engine pretty much apart.
