We have to apologise for everything else, even things we haven't done. So when's the public day of apology for Iraq, and Afghanistan when we're at it. Lets apologise for the marines trespassing in Iran so we leave nothing out.

This government should apologise to us for getting us into Iraq by lies and deceit in the first place. As for the rest of it we seem to be everybodys patsy we don't owe any apologies to any of them.

Will someone ask the Italians to apologise for the Romans invading Britain (and most of Europe). Will someone ask the French to apologise for invading Britain (in 1066). It just goes on and on. Will everyone get a life and look to the future. It is governments that take these actions not "ordinary" people.

Oh and Acorn44 should live in the real world.

We should apolgise to the international community for illegally invading Iraq. We seem to be big fans of international law when someone else is doing something wrong (say someone actually had weapons of mass destruction, for instance). But when it comes to ourselves and the biggest bully in the playground, we are allowed to do whatever we want. This is inhumanistic and a National disgrace.
Also, I have a friend who is Afghan and he tells me that the majority of the Afghan people (Taliban were a minority) consider the invasion of their country completely out of line and compare it to the Russian invasion of a couple of decades ago.
So, you sarky person, your question is a little sad really. And I know all the right-wing Sun readers will agree with you and thumb-me-down. But I have the consolation that I have REAL knowledge, from the REAL world, not some self-indulgent crap from tabloid traitors.

Yeah, let's apologize anyway, then we can bring our troops home. I don't want my son to be drafted. I'm not anti military, my dad was in the air force for 22 years and my daughter joined the army. But I don't want to see WW3.
