WWAN? do i need it?

im plannin to get a notebook in a few days, specifically the vaio sz series. i jst wanted to ask if i need this wwan too? i already have a wireless connection at home. so this wwan thing, u can only use it when u subscribe to their services like cingular edge ryt? so if i dnt sign up for that, then the wwan thing is useless correct? thanks!!!

WAN is pretty much like the Internet access wirelessly you have at your home, just wherever really. You don't need WAN services if you are going to be using the Internet just on your home network.
