Ok. Start with 30/50. That really means 30 divided by 50. You can get rid of both 0's to make things simpler. Then go 3 divided by 5. You should end up with .6 which = .60 which = 60% Hope this helps!!

If I have sent out 50 questionnaires, and 30 came back, what would be my response rate in %
They are saying that 30 people responded out of 50 who were asked to.
30 out of 50 can be written as 30/50
to change to per cent (which means per hundred), set up a ratio like this : 30/50 = x/100
Simplify by cross multiplying : 50x=3000 , so x = 60%

30/50 = 60/100 = 60%
A percentage is a fraction of 100.
Or, divide your results into a decimal number and multiply by 100 to find the value as a percentage:
30/50 = 0.6
0.6 * 100 = 60%
You can search Y!A if you like - there are quite a few questions and answers about percentages that have been answered in the past.

% means "per 100" thus:-
30/50 = 60/100 = 60%
Another way to look at it is to say that you scored 30 out of 50 in a test.If this was the case you would expect to score 60/100 ie 60%
Similarly 15/20 = 75/100 = 75%

(The last sentence is the answer, all else is just the explanation)
A percentage is a fraction over a hundred.(5/100= 5%) and because the ration in the problem is 30/50 and 50X2 is 100 and (30X2)/(50X2)=30/50=.6
The answer is 60/100 or 60%
