I'm a blonde with pale skin and hazel eyes. My dress is a classic black dress. I want to step up my makeup, but don't want to wear too much. I tried on some black mascara, eyeliner and the top of my lashes and a thin line on my lower lashes and black eyeshadow only to the creases. Is this too much makeup? If so, what should I take away? Or would brown/black mascara look better and use brown eyeliner? Again, I want it to be a little fancier for prom.

No this is a very good combination to go with your blonde hair. It's a nice contrast and you can't go wrong with black. Just make sure that you don't put ANY mascara on your bottom lashes as this tends to sweat and drip down your face, and since it's your prom, you want to look amazing.

I would say to go with the black eyeliner and mascara but change the eye shadow color to something besides black like a veyr light grey so you dont look all blonde gothic unless you want to be gothic or are. But so far sounds good just change the color of eye shadow to a lighter one. Also you could go to a makeup artist at the mall or somewhere like that and they sometimes do free makeovers to match your outfit, just show the dress and they can make you look awesome. HOPE I HELPED!

I think so. I would go for a smoky look. It would make you look more mysterious Too much dark makeup around the eyes can make you look gothic. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with gothic, but it sounds like you want a lighter prettier look. Try black/brown mascara, grey or silver eyeliner, and a lavender or something like it eye shadow. If you smudge the eyeliner, it looks more smoky and sultry. I think that would be a more desired look for you. Play around with different colors and combos until you come up with the one you like.

Good luck and have a great time!

Don't use the brown since your dress is black and it will look like you can't tell the difference. Everything sounds fine but you might want to tone down the eyeshadow a little and make sure you smudge the eyeliner for a smoky, shadowy look. Have fun.

dramatic is always best for prom. If you're worried about overdoing It i would stick to a shimmery tanish color for eyeliner, a simple thing line of black eyeliner on top and bottom, two coats of black mascara for top eyelashes, one even coat for the bottom. Or perhaps, to perfect the look a lil more, skip the mascara and apply false lashes (the pretty kind, not the halloween kind) I did this and they looked dramatic and perfected without me worrying about getting the perfect nonclumping, thickening, lengthening mascara!

Go all out! Prom is only once..(Well, unless you're me., I dated older guys so i went all four years of high school, lol)

I think you should apply black mascra and eyeliner(but not liquid) ,khol and try to use very dark tone of the color u want for eyeshadow and then step up with lighter till under brows then put pearly white or very light gold.....or for a fancy look u may put black mascara and eyeliner and kohl and put a natural colored eyeshadow then put matte red or fuschia or any strong color for lipstick....hope u like the idea.Good Luck.

I am by no means an expert on makeup, so I'll say, "Don't look like a raccoon" by over-doing it. When you get your hair done (maybe you won't need that?) the people at the shop should be able to help you with professional knowledge. Prom is a rare occasion and worth extra effort and planning. I hope you have a fabulous time and please, don't ride with anyone who has had even one (1) drink!!! (I know you are smarter than that from your question though). :-)

You can keep all of them, just be careful to not go to dark. Stick with a lighter eyeshadow especially at the creases by your nose, this will make your eyes look bigger and sexier!

Have fun at Prom!

Use a smokey color all around the eye to bring out your beautiful hazel eyes without pulling off the Goth look :) oh, dont forget the apricot gloss :)

Experiment before your prom... try all together, try a couple together. If your still in doubt take pictures of the dress and take it to a professional and ask them what they think is the best solution
good luck and have fun "
