On the top of the engine block. remove the big plastic cover, held on with a few star headed screws ( 4 or 5 I think), if you haven't got the correct bit to remove them a small flathead screwdriver will do. after that its pretty obvious.
Engine covers are common place in engine bays now days, it makes the engine look more "futuristic", underneath its still the same standard four cylinder engine it's always been.
although now youve got more screws to lose

In the engine somewhere near the top. You will need to open the bonnet and have a look.

if ecotec engine,remove top cam cover&coil pack,held on by 5 bolts
