I believe that softball bats have a larger barrel, however the below site might give you greater insight into this ...i have looked up the wikipidea, but it does not give any real definitive explanation as to which has a larger barrel.

They are shaped differently too. The baseball bat has a gradual taper from the handle to the end of the barrell while the softball bat is straight through the handle with a quick angle out to the barrell which stays one width the rest of the way up. At the very top, I would say the baseball bat is biggest, but the softball bat has more barrell.

always baseball bats. softball bats have a longer sweet spot but the barrel is fatter on baseball

It depends, but usually a baseball bat barrel is fatter, and a softball bat's barrel is longer.

Baseball bats always have a fatter barrel unless they are for little league.

It depends on the particular bat but on average a baseball bat would. Especially the big barrel ones kids use.
