misspelled words , run on sentences , history of drug use
felony convect ions , political affiliations , things like I'm a hard worker , a go getter , things of that nature normally make those reading them go yea and so is everyone else who sent me a resume ,
show your education , your job skills , work history and leave it at that . allot of times having to much in a resume is just as bad as having not enough

No gaps in work history.
No Misspellings or grammatical mistakes.
No hobbies unless they are related to the type of job you are going after.
No Grades unless this is your first job or you had higher than a 3.5 GPA.

Excess in everything. It should be short and sweet outlining some basics which are important, the main history in chronological order. Brevity is the key.

Any identifiers like age, race or sex. I would also leave off marital status, number of children and any hobbies that aren't professionally or academically related (ex: fishing, bike riding, movies).
