What is a good/ cheap way of obtaining film for research?

I am doing research that involves films produced in Argentina and films produced in the U.S. regardign Argentina. The local libraries (universities and public) have none of the titles I need. I've called distributors (like Hastings, Blockbuster, etc.), but it is just going to be way too expensive to rent all the titles I'm looking for. How else could I get these films?

I would think that if you hooked up with a scholar who studies South America and Argentina, he would most likely allow you to check out his collection of films.
