Easter (non-Orthodox) is always the first Sunday after the full moon following the Spring Equinox. That's why the date moves around every year. Why it's then has to do with the calculation for the date of Passover.
So, even with no calendar for help, knowing that the equinox is approximately 3/21 every year, watch for the first full moon after that date. Easter will be the next Sunday.

It's a Christian Holiday commemorating the alleged rising of Jesus Christ into (we are told) Heaven. There is no confirmed proof that this really happened and there is some new possible evidence that it didn't, but Christians celebrate it as religious holiday. It is also celebrated without any religious connection with Easter Bunnies, including Chocolate ones, the coloring of eggs and Family gatherings with festive meals.
