After a period of significant weight loss, a person who was once considered an endomorph may begin to instead resemble an ectomorph. Likewise, and athletic mesomorph may begin to look more like an endomorph as he ages and loses muscle mass."

This is used a a classification for body types known as Somatotypes

Ectomorphic: These people tend to have a thin frame. Examples are athletes like long distance runner.

Endomorphs: These are people that tend to have denser frames. Although, at one time it was believed that people with this frame tended to have problem with being overweight, that theory has been discounted in a medical study conducted in 2006.

Mesomorph: This is considered to be the ideal body type to have. A proper balance between lean muscle mass and a healthy amount of body fat.
