Think about it. Most people despise Sanjaya with a passion yet he's still on the show. But my proof doesn't come from this year's show, it comes from last year's:
Last year, by some God-forsaken freak of nature, Taylor Hicks won the competition. Even though Chris Daughtry came in 4th in the competition, he's topping the charts with his band, Daughtry, and their hit single "It's Not Over". It's been rumored by Daughtry fans that during last year's competition when they tried to call in to vote for the rocker, they instead got the recording saying "thank you for voting for Katherine McPhee". Jennifer Hudson came in 7th in the competition and won an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls. The only thing Taylor Hicks has done is a commerical for Ford featuring his spastic dance moves as well as his horrible "singing" and his CD is at the very bottom of the barrell on the charts.
Is the most popular television show in history rigged? I think so! Do you?

Every time I would mention it to somebody they thought that I was nuts.FINALLY someone that realizes it too.Who in the hell would go up in front of millions of people and be completely humiliated in front of Simon Cowel himself thinking you accually had enough talent to be "THE ONE"!Do they WATCH the show.I mean HELLO!Anyway you'r right,it's all rigged!!!!!

Maybe those voting for him were numerically dyslexic and dialed the wrong number.
This is all a matter of preference. Just because you like someone better than someone else doesn't mean everyone does. It is voted for and you have to accept the results whether the person you like most wins or not. What it does mean is you have to vote for the person you like and not dial the wrong number. Or think, the one I like is safe so I don't need to vote. Cos if everyone thinks that, your favorite is out.

No. The judges do try to influence the voting by their comments. The fact is that idol is not just about singing, it is also a popularity contest. People that voted for Hicks may not necessarily have liked his singing better than Duaghtry.

I def agree with you that the show is rigged.....I just don't understand how talanted ppl gets voted off and america flips out about it and ppl like Sanjiyah (who the world seems to hate) stays on the show.
I'm starting not to like this show, because it's not making sense to me.
You can't really blame america for the s**t that's going on with Sanjiyah, you have to blame the judges for putting his sorry a** through to the top 24. He didn't deserve to be in the top 24.

Most young girls like Sanjaya & they would buy his CD. He is a money maker. I didn't get to watch the show last year due to my work schedule. This year when you call & vote it doesn't give the person's name...it says thanks for voting for #......Look at Ruben Studdard...........he isn't high on the list either & I can't stand Fantasia........the judges have a way of saying who they want without saying the name.........

I think everything from American Idol to sports events are rigged. It's all about the money.

I agree with you there. Mr. Hicks had the past needed to sell him on te program, but he isn't that amazing of a singer at all.
