Yesterday night, after I was done using the computer I disconnected my Ipod and went to sleep. Usually, the ipod goes to sleep a few minutes after it detects no activity right? Well that didnt happen and when I woke up almost all the battery life was gone. I tried putting it on hold and such but that didnt work so I ended up doing a reset . What causes this?

iPods always have these kinds of problems they just freeze. I don't think there is a particular reason for them acting in this way. Just restore it from iTunes when it freezez. It always works!!

If music was playing, then it wouldnt have went to sleep. But another reason is that when the iPod is connected to the computer, then it doesnt. It just keeps charging, but if the computer was turned off, then it wouldnt be charging and wasting battery.
Next time check that your iPod is off before you go to bed, its the safest thing to do lol

the ipod software must have frozen. Just like a computer this can happen and it wont respond. You then need to power cycle it, let it drain its battery and then fully recharge before use to not damage the battery.

When you watch a video and pause on video Ipod or even listening to a song (radio podcast in particular) and pause it, or have the slideshow going these can sometimes not make it go off. next time make sure you click "sleep" or select it in the menu... hope it helps
