I'm a Chicagoan and a White Sox fan. But I figured I'd give equal time to hate on the Red Sox. Personally I could care less about the Red Sox or Yankees unless they're playing my boys. Aaaand GO!

Last point... read the answer in ALL CAPS. Almost enough to make me hate the Red Sox (almost). Question: if you lived in Boston and LA , how do you know what the day to day fans are like in other MLB cities? In other words... turn your baseball ego down from 10 to 5. Please. Live in Chicago and you'll see the passion EVERYDAY all summer.

I don't think people really hate the Red Sox. People are more amazed at how the team and their fans act. It's they who seem to "hate" everyone else. Figure it this way. How would you or anyone else feel if your team, with the exception of 2004, if your team was always the brides maid to the Yankees for nearly 100 years? How would you feel, as a fan, if you had to go to Fenway Park, a filthy, smelly, out dated dump with nothing but terrible seats, to watch your team play a home game? I suppose if I were a Red Sox fan I would eventually build up enough resentment toward everyone else they I would certainly be disliked.

I wouldn't say I *hate* the sox but I do get annoyed by how some of the fans act. Some of the fans I've been around act like the Red Sox are only franchise in MLB that has a history of great players and that the sox fan base (Red Sox nation) is the best MLB fan base around.
I get the impression that sox fans think they have more loyalty to the RedSox than the a Cubs fan has loyalty to the Cubs or a Yankee's fan has loyalty to the Yankee's for example.

I hate that the Red Sox can win a World Series without people calling them "snobby", "resentful", or "rude."
Are you kidding me? This is a group of true fans that after 86 years of futility finally won a World Series. How could you hate them? The only reason why Yankee fans are claiming that the Red Sox fans are arrogant is because they can't chant "1918" or bring up the curse of "The Bambino" any longer. Everyone gave this team crap for many, many years and now they don't have them to kick around any longer. This upsets people that focus more on their rival than they do on their own team.
As a Cub fan, I know exactly how they felt. I hope to one day see my team hoisting the World Series trophy. On that day, no one will be able to take it away from me. Let them call us arrogant all that they want. They've never had to live a lifetime or watch their fathers live a lifetime of heartbreak.
By the way, what's up with a Tampa Bay fan questioning loyalty of a franchise with some of the most loyal fans in the league? Call us when you actually get more than 12,000 fans in the stands after opening day.

Everything. As a Yankee fan u have got to hate everything.
But the one thing I hate the most is their smugness, for no reason. They won 1 World Series, and they think people r gonna give them the next five. They have 2 work 4 it. Like tha Yanks would. They would win the series, then work hard the next year.
They were even smug during the 86 years between series. They thought they were the kings of the Earth, but no on was, or will be bowing down.

i personally can't stand boston or new york. i can't stand everyone's obsession with the two teams, and i practically want to blow my brains out every season when espn shows at least 20 NYY v BOS games a season. i live in southwest iowa and can't stand the amount of friends i have that are either yankees or red sox fans around here, for some reason chicks flock to the red sox and douchebags flock to the yankees.

I don't hate the Red Sox. I hate it when the Tigers play them and the Tigers lose. I don't hate them, though. I DO hate the Yankees, though. About the only thing in the world that I really do hate except maybe Toyota.

I hate the fact that they are going to win their division and finish 10 games ahead of the Spankees. I hate the fact that they will have three 20 game winners, the MVP of the league (Ortiz) and win their 2nd World Series in 3 years.

I hate them like poison,after they won the world series they went out in the streets like a bunch of rabid animals,And caused alot of riots,they burned cars,a young girl was killed shot in the eye by a cop, They terrorized the whole damn city!
For what? 5 mins of fame! They don't deserve to ever win anything again!! Low life Pigs!!
