Hi, I just bought an Advent 7113 laptop with 1024MB DDRII RAM, and would like to upgrade to 2Gig. I was informed that there were two RAM slots, but upon removing the back cover there only appears to be one. Does this mean I have to shell out for a 2gig RAM card or am i missing something?

Check the user's manual - the 2nd RAM slot is accessed by lifting up the keyboard assembly and removing it from the laptop chassis. The manual details how to do this.

I just purchased a 7113 as well, and I read the user manual that comes on the included CD-ROM. It says there´s another memory slot located beneath the keyboard. You would have to loosten the keyboard screw from the bottom of the laptop, then remove the keyboard using the side clips. Hopefully you´ve also got the user manual on CD-ROM, in which case I would recommend consulting Chapter 4 - Upgrading Your Computer, for more detailed info. Cheers.

All laptop have 2 slot for ram. your computer should come with 2 512mb ram. Try to remove the ram and check the value of the ram or you might find another ram below the first ram
