This is a very good question. the answer is "it depends"
8MB of course is better 2MB and technically faster.

The download speed shows how fast your connection can download a file from a certain location, but can that certain location match the speed of your connection?
Most of the time the answer is "NO". If the upload speed at the location you are downloading from is 1MB/sec. Your download speed is gonna be at best 1MB/sec, even if your connection speed was 8MB or 2 MB.

so it is like having an exotic sports car on gravel road. it is capable of doing alot of speed, but the road is a restriction and won't allow it to do more.

once you connect to a site with a faster upload speed, you will be able to use more of your speed, but these sites are not very common.

As far as surfing sites and the simple daily tasks, there should not be a huge difference, if you noticed a huge change after upgrading, there might have been somemthing wrong with your connection.

If you use the internet to look for info and surf and do an average amount of downloaing, stick with the 2mb.

if you are in the UK then there may be a little bit of a difference. The 8mb will depend upon how close to the exchange you live, and may not be much faster than 2mb anyway. You're also likely to get much less than 8mb during busy hours as all the bandwidth is shared and it's unlikely you'll get 8mb very often

If you do much downloading, you'll notice the difference, if not you probably won;'t notice much difference, and I would not pay much more for 8mb than 2mb

If you're happy with 2mb and don't download big files like films very often, you could stick with it til you check the price difference between 2 and 8mb.
Unless you up/download a lot of big files, you might not need to spend the extra cash.
But if you find it too slow it might be worth an upgrade - but make sure of any restrictions first, some deals are capped and theres a monthly limit. Unlimited is always best!

6 MB.

The numbers represent data transfer rates. The higher the number, the faster data can be transfered over the web.

8MB, in theory, should be 4 times faster than 2MB.

If you want speed, then go with the eight. I had 2 and went to 6 which was night and day. In addition, you want to check the upload speed. If you transfer files this is very important. I do a lot of file transfers from work so speed is very helpful.

the difference is how fast you can download a video, song, movie, webpage. it just runs faster in general. upload speed is also faster. meaning you can post something on the internet (like you question on this page) alot faster.
