Do you think American Idol is rigged? (see details for reasoning)?

Think about it. Most people despise Sanjaya with a passion yet he's still on the show. But my proof doesn't come from this year's show, it comes from last year's:

Last year, by some God-forsaken freak of nature, Taylor Hicks won the competition. Even though Chris Daughtry came in 4th in the competition, he's topping the charts with his band, Daughtry, and their hit single "It's Not Over". It's been rumored by Daughtry fans that during last year's competition when they tried to call in to vote for the rocker, they instead got the recording saying "thank you for voting for Katherine McPhee". Jennifer Hudson came in 7th in the competition and won an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls. The only thing Taylor Hicks has done is a commerical for Ford featuring his spastic dance moves as well as his horrible "singing" and his CD is at the very bottom of the barrell on the charts.

Is the most popular television show in history rigged? I think so! Do you?

I have thought it was from the very beginning. They always let the people go that can really sing. I am not a fan of Daughtry's music but real does recognize real and his album is selling big time. He is number 1 right now. Just bear in mind that during the beginning of the seasons Simon is always saying yeah you don't sound to good but you cute America will vote for you.

Hum..... I thought Taylor Hicks was good but his cd isn't so hot.
I do think that there is some sort of rigging on the show. If there wasn't then there wouldn't be so much controversy surrounding the show and that wouldn't make it as popular. I mean come on......Antonella Barba sucked and the only reason they kept her on there so long was b/c of her looks and the naughty naughty photos. I also think people that is how most people get voted through. If they are cute but only have a so so voice the young fan base will vote them through.

I sure do. Not only American Idol, but it seems the devil (politics) is rigged into everything, how true, how true. You know, I'm glad somebody finally came up with this point like you did in your very bright and brilliant question. I think we are all rigged when we are born, you know, like perhaps we are all destined to be stars or junk, while others are pre-set to to be race car drivers, cops, or direlect farmers. I think our DNA strips in our blood makes us who we are. It is totally awesome, so oh yeh, I do believe everything is rigged, like you coming up with this question, I do believe it was written in the stars above with or without the moon. I am not rigged though because I am on real and as original as I am, I am invulnerable to being hoodwinked or tricked into anything, except politicians, no, hold on, on second thought, politicians are pretty tricky guys, they are super snakes and reptiles who know how to master the arts of deception, that is why people continue voting those people into office when we already know that politicians are not honest or truthful people. Politicians are the ones that rig lots and lots of things into this system we are trapped in. Duh, go figure.
