RACISM in America is not dead. Just think about it, 30-40 years ago we were still segregated. And even though the US Constitution says we are all equal, minorities simply do not get the same opportunities as whites. I did a paper on it.
Think deep and analyze everything.

Start with how racism has effected you personally.
Once you have figured that out, think about how racism started detailing with specific states ans issues. Once you have that down pack talk about how racism has effected where you live, employment...the list continues on.
One great topic of discussion would be "The Cotton Exchange" located in Savannah, Georgia or better known as now as "River Street".
You can get a lot of racist tactics from this loop hole. Best of luck!

Maybe you should focus more on a specific type of racism like for a specific race. Pick a race and look into what sorts of names they are called or what sorts of rights they are denied. You could choose something current (like Muslims or Middle Eastern people or homosexuals). Of course, there are many other groups which are oppressed just as much also (ie Mexican- and African- Americans). Good luck on the project. I hope you learn a lot and grow as a person.

Fifty and sixties...Small communities...surveys...The National Guard being what it was intended for: To guard the states within the United States. Called upon in times of upheaval or disaster...within the United States. When the Guard was training for the race riots in our community you knew something was definitely wrong...

I find it interesting that the african-americans and other ethnic races can use words towards each other that if were used by causasians would be termed racist and cause for a huge uproar. Hey, if the leading rap artists can use these words in reference to each other and women of the same ethnicity, then why can't other ethnic races?
