Cricket is not known because the americans don't play - so it's not important to them. ( i don't know why?)
Americans change everything - football to soccer
How can a sport that is played by using ur hand be called football.
For those who don't know - cricket worldcup is being played in the caribbean

I think almost all American sports fans are, at least, aware of the existence of cricket although even then they are often surprised to discover it is played in many other parts of the world apart from just England, from my experience.
Like most sports if you never play it, and never watch it, and never read about it, and never even see it on TV... then it 's just not very important to you. Thats just human nature all around the world.
Also, its a pretty complicated sport and most Americans dont really enjoy anything too taxing on the brain. Keep it simple and it MAYBE has a chance in the US!

because they are ignorant, its that simple...
ps why play a sport where u have to think on ur feet, catch barehanded, and stand in the line of fire where a fast bowler can aim right at u..
when u can play a sport where u can use oven mits to catch, batter has a small hitting zone to concentrate... and they dont have to worry about pitcher deliberatly hitting them(it does happen but batter usually gets a free pass lmao, stupid rule that is)..
also baseball is one sport where 40+ yr old fat people can still make a living.. fact.. David Wells, David Ortiz, ryan Howard, Pujols, Bartolo Colon... these are just a few .. google their images and u will see.

Honey, I once asked a South African to explain cricket to me and he couldn't do it. Apparently cricket is way too esoteric for most people to understand.
