I need help figuring out this rock/alternative song...?

It came out about four or five years ago and was about a guy whose girlfriend died. The only line we can think of is "she's gone." Can anybody help?

there was a song called 'she's gone' released in 2001 by a band called bright eyes - they've split up now though.

that might be it, it was number 18 in the charts for weeks.
