science, even in the most general of educations will give you a better understanding of the world around you and make you an overall more intelligent and well rounded person. Just because you don't plan on being a physicist, doesn't mean that physics is unimportant. If you like strolling blindly through life never know why things are the way they are, then you will not need any science education. If you want to know what is going on in your world, (the how and why things happen or are the way they are) a general knowledge of science is the fuel you will need to figure things out.

So you have a better understanding of NOW. I'm not typically the one who says to stop looking into the future, but you're looking too far into it. The sort of things you're learning now are things that science can never surpass. The basics of science. Besides, by the time anything significantly new that changes how the world sees and uses science comes around. you'll be long dead. So stop trying to make excuses and just do your science homework. ;) What's the harm in learning anyways?

It's good to know that stuff when someone tries to have an intellectual conversation with you. I didn't particularly like high school physics, but my current boyfriend is a huge physics nerd. I'm glad that I remember some of the stuff from physics so that I can carry on a conversation with him.

Also, isn't it nice to know how the world works? A knowledge of science will help you better understand your surroundings and why things happen, like potholes. Do YOU know why potholes happen? It's something you learn in your science class.

So you know that when you throw the rock straight up in the air, its going to come down and maybe hit you on the head. So you know that fish have a hard time living in sewage (our lakes). The fact is that everything we see, touch, hear etc, is a result of science. I for one like to understand the world (not flat) around me.

wrong and you are not feeling well please take a moment and thank Science that doctor was able to help you.

You'd be amazed by how many gawdawfully stupid mistakes you can avoid, just by having an inkling about how the world actually works.
