For the sake of a potential child born to a mother who may not be able to raise the child to maturity, don't let it happen. You are ultimately the last line of defense against becoming pregnant. YOU need to do something, whether your boyfriend does or not.

Three words: Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Apart from abstaining, condoms are one of the most effective methods of preventing STDs.
Tell him about all the STDs that are often very mild or symptomless in the male, but that can wreak havoc with the female.
If that doesn't work (if you have both been tested and shown to be clean), then get some good references that show some women CAN get pregnant at fifty five. What's the record age for a natural pregnancy?

|'ve been in this situation before, me uncle, who is abt 25 yrs old married a older lady abt 39 yrs old, had sex a few weeks after they both got married, he was a virgin, she wasn't(she had 3 kids), she could get pregnant 1 more time, so what they did was talk to a well-known doctor about it, and he said something like"you can use protection if you want to, but do not in any condition have sex when either one of you is under alot of stress", guess what, they now have a healthy baby boy born 7/7/95, he is now 11 yrs old, after he was pregnant, the proud parents wanted to thank the doctor, but, alas, he was never seen again, some says he was a angel from heaven.

Haven't yet had this experience, but when I was younger and dating a nice young man in his 20s his 57 year old mom turned up pregnant - so yes it does happen. You two are adults, act like it. Sit down and decide on what kind of contraception you are going to use and do it - right now you are playing with fire, so don't be surprised when you get burned. Good luck and God Bless.

Good Morning, first of all this is your body, not his. If you do not take care of it I can almost assure he will not. Do you have any idea how many children are born with DS to women older then 45. Why should a child suffer because of the parents fault? And if he is alot younger then you...he might not even be around for the child.

My aunt had a daughter at 54.......yes, it happens. And I wouldn't be taking any chances. She was in her 70's when she graduated from high school...does that sound like something you want to experience? ;-) Not to mention that you should be using protection with your young boyfriend regardless of still being reproductive...
Does he think you can't get STD's at 55 too?

Well you shouldn`t do anything with him, if he doesn`t protect you, if he doesn`t, he shows you he is selfish and he really doens`t care that much about you. And any day is dangerous you can get pregnant any day, the rythm is not exact and you can get pregnant in your "secure days" so if you want to have sex with him and he bothers you with the no protection thing, take some pills, otherwise I think you shouldn`t do it, your bf should be someone that takes care of you, good luck!! :)

I think you eggs are rotten by now and the chance of getting pregnant naturally at your age is the same as a snowball surviving in Hell.
Just enjoy the sex before he moves on to some tight young thing.

I have no idea and the thought of a 55 year old women pulling a tampon out that is bloody is actually quite sickening.
If you likr younger men then tell them straight out. You to old for the pill.
Tell him to wrap it.
