I read somewhere that although one day is considered to be 24 hours, the natural human body clock actually goes by a 25-hour cycle.

As a result, I constantly find myself sleeping later and later (not by choice - my body just isn't tired at the time I'm supposed to be asleep), and subsequently having to wake up later as well. Because of this, it's really hard to observe a strict 9-5 kind of job.

Any advice? I find having to observe a routine Mon-Fri 9-5 job extremely damaging to my health as it goes against my body's natural cycle. Why can't corporations the world over accept this fact and adapt accordingly? (And the stock market too?)

Hmmmm. does someone want to rationalize not working? Good sleep hygiene means disciplining yourself to use the 24 hours we have to our best advantage.

Yes, the body is on 25 hours. See my reference below. Yes, we are a nation of sleep deprived people. But, we can 'pay back' the 'sleep debt' with self discipline and develop good sleep habits and make it through this world; in better condition that a bunch of people...
