"Right" like "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder

The question is who has the say on what is right? This is a matter of interpretation at best. What is right for the United States may not be what is right for another country. Further the consequences of decisions made are not always readily known. Sometimes it is years before the effects of policy are truly seen. Every decision made in the name of foreign policy is not necessarily correct, but they are not necessarily wrong either. What they are is a reaction to the situation at the time. The honest truth is that it is not up to world to pass judgment on policy, unless that policy directly effects the country making that determination. This standard also applies to decisions judged by the United States regarding the foreign policy of other nations.

You can't.
Ever since Bush became the President of the United States, the integrity of USA is now greatly tarnished.

But then, Bush doesn't care about that anyway.

This administration has their own way of not thinking straight. Consider this:

Testimony at the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (ongoing during March 2004) has included claims of how much of the Bush administration's immediate post-9/11 emphasis on Iraq was appropriate and proportional to the overall picture of terrorism, especially in light of the administration's subsequent decision to pursue military action in Afghanistan first, the fact that organizations accused of 9/11 are in Afghanistan, not Iraq, and that no links have been found between these organizations and Saddam Hussein

Nobody can be sure that everything any person or country does is the right thing to do.

Often, the consequences needed to determine whether it was right or wrong take significant time to manifest, years perhaps decades even.

But I'm not sure why you'd cite a site that uses an intellectually dishonest term like "chickenhawk". It's a cheap insult, and shows low intellect.

We are living human kind at loss and stranded in planet of apes.
Sometimes along the way we do made blunders and slip-ups with human errors in making a mess out there in planet of apes
It will be wise for the good of mankind to listen and share in solving the mess before kicking the butts of living human kind in the creation of peace on earth goodwill to men in planet of apes.
Not just blindly in throwing pots and pans in bashing up one another and called ourselves the greatest modern civilization in making a monkey out of ourselves in planet of apes.

not sure what the conection is with the citation. But, the US should stay out of the british sailors incident. Not everything we do is right but sometimes we must do what is necessary.
it may become necessary to send in a sniper with a 50 cal. to take out that evil president Iran has. I may not be right ,but it may save thousands of lives.

Get real.

The US does what it thinks is right FOR THE US. If doing it helps somebody else out, fine. If it screws some other country up, that's fine too.

What gives us the right to be that way?

Right now, we have the biggest stick. Unfortunately, we rely way too much on that and eventually will pay for our arrogance.

You can't. That is why we have the Bill of Rights and all of the freedoms associated with it. So that we, as citizens can verify and hold those accountable those in office for illegal or incorrect decisions that they made.

Compare the actions side by side. Which side has more pros? Which side has more cons? This should indicate if the U.S. is doing things correctly.
