I don't always deal with it very well. I have recently joined and exercise class. It uses a lot of my energy that would normally be put towards being stressed. I try to talk to someone but that doesn't always work. I try to make sense of what is stressing me and try to remember that some things are beyond my control. I try to do things to help prevent stress such as organizing things and planning ahead (it helps with somethings) I also create a budget for myself so that I don't get overly stress by financial obligations. If I had to choose by best stress management technique it would be exercise though, even if it is just taking the dog for a walk and letting that be the only thing on my mind.

This is a toughie, it can lead to a breakdown if it goes on long enough.

I'd try and do the following

1) Avoid the source of the stress
2) Find someone sympathetic to talk to, preferably a professional such as a councillor / therapist
3) Distract yourself with a relaxing hobby or pasttime
4) take a holiday or get a change of scenery
5) Try, however difficult it is, to continue eating and sleeping normally as little sleep and lack of vitamins will make you feel even worse and you'll get stuck in a cycle.

Emotional stress can take ages to get over.

Good luck!

I smoke a lot of cigarettes, but since I'm planning to quit Sunday, that will soon have to change.
Other than that, I like to sit in my apartment by myself - it needs to be quiet, so I can think. I'll doodle absentmindedly while working the issue out in my mind. I also like to take long drives when I'm feeling stressed (so long as it's not rush hour at the time) - something about driving really calms me down.

I deal with emotional stress by listening to music. It calms my mood and gets me to thinking about things other than what i am stressed about. It soothes the mood and helps you get through it. Just listen to something that you like, and that means something to you

Normally I will exercise but since I have been laid up I have used reading and writing as an outlet. I ''never'' displace my emotions on to the people around me. Part of being an adult requires that you show restraint with regard to emotional out bursts.

usually i cried in front of the mirror and speaks to my reflections, confessing bout my problems n such. because i have no shoulder to cry on. none of my friends r, u know, talented in cajoling a friend. so that's what i did. or even sing along an emotional song n just cried out loud. trust me, u'll feel better. when it comes to handling stress, just ask me. i don't know y i'm always depressed.

hey, just quit thinking so much. it will only lead you in circles. trust me, i know...if you drink or do drugs, that can put you in a slump, but the thing with emotional stress is that there is no source to the problem so trying to pinpoint one will leave your mind in constant wonder, and probably make you tired. so be patient, and try to relax until you find stability.

Finding the root cause to my problem and attacking it from there. Speaking to a counselor and taking anti anxiety medication. I'm a completely different person.
