It is from a neck injury...the main nerve called the "Ulnar Nerve"(spelling???)
when the neck pinches on it you can feel it from your elbow to your mostly your middle fingers...
..it can effect anything from your neck down to all your fingers though.

go see a chiropractor to get an adjustment on a regular to help realign your neck vertabrae....

Sounds like tendonitis or tennis elbow. (Carpal tunnel does not effect your index finger.)

It could be due to nerve damage in your elbow. This could indicate either carpel or cubital tunnel syndrome. Consult a doctor.

could come from pressure on nerves in your neck...no kidding
see a doctor...possibly for an MRI
