The Iranians know that the United States stand divided right now, thanks to the Democrats, and they are hoping to draw us into a conflict that our liberals will not have the stomach to fight, therefore giving them a cheap victory over the West. If you think I'm kidding, what do you make of that fight between Israel and Hezbollah last Summer. That's the first war Israel lost and it was started by Hezbollah kidnapping Israeli soldiers (sound familiar). Hezbollah is Iranian run and Israel is a house divided, just like us. The Left wants to pull out and the Right insisted on doing the right thing.
This thing is so transparent that I can't believe it. I'll tell you how this war should be fought; WITHOUT FIRING A SHOT. The Western Nations need to place an embargo on our insurance companies and forbid them from underwriting any further gasoline shipments to Iran. Iran has no refining capability and their rate of inflation is hovering at between 50 and 60%. They would be bankrupt in about a month and the Iranian Citizens would dump the Mullahs and their chimpanzee-looking President in a heartbeat.

Amaddinnerjacket is not in control of the Iranian military. The General that made the decision to grab and hold the Brits is a apparently able to function with out Presidential over sight. I guess most of those types of countries are like that. The man that runs the military seems to have little or no concern for diplomacy. I believe that Saddam was responsible for the cue that over threw the Iraqi government. Maybe the General of Iran's military is getting ready to make his move to over throw Amadinnerjacket and plant himself as the newest middle-eastern Dictator.

The British are doing a good job of handling it right now.. they are calling for very strict sanctions and letting Iran know that they are alone (no China and Russia backing them on this one). It's a good move on Blair's part.

No, we should rally BEHIND the British, not take a front seat to this one. Let the focus go from us to them for a change! And then. set an example to the international community that we are NOT war mongers, but that we STAND BEHIND our allies!
