What the name of this song?

I heard it the other day and I was just wondering who sings it. One of the Lyrics goes like this "There he sits with a yellow pen and pad, what a handsome lad, thatss my boy" Any help- this is annoying me that I don't know- oh and whats the name of the song- ten point for best awnser.

The artisit is Mac Davis and the song is called Watching Scotty Grow hope it helps.
