The very best pet ever is a ferret. They love to play. They love to be tickled on the tummy. They love to run and jump around, and they will add so much joy to your life.

Some people think that they smell, but its not true. They dont smell any worse than a dog or a cat, its just that our society is used to smelling a dog or a cat, and not a ferret so they notice it more. Besides, if you clean their bedding every week, and give them baths - they smell cleaner than a dog or cat, b/c they are so much easier to bathe and they love the water!

My ferrets love to hide behind the couch and then run out at me when I come home, they love to hide under the covers in my bed when we play hide and seek. No matter where they are, they coming running like a bolt of lightening when they hear the sound of their squeaky toy.

Ferrets are the most rewarding and best pets to have.

It really depends on the person, and how much responsibility that person has. If the person isn't up for washing the pet, cleaning a cage, or changing the litter box then don't get a pet. If you want some responsibility than a cat would be your best choice. All you would have to do is clean the litter box. If you are looking for something exciting and playful look toward a dog or rabbits. If you are a quiet person then you should look for hamsters or ferrets, but if you do get hamsters and ferrets make sure that the ones you picked were raised together or they'll end up killing each other. A smaller responsibility pet is fish. They're quiet, self cleansing, and you only have to change their water once every two months. As for me, I have no limits for pets. I have 8 pets.

Best? Dog, I guess, because they come in every shape, size, color, breed, and temperament.

My favorite? Reptiles. Theres nothing better than knowing that scientists think reptiles are stupid, and seeing your turtle learn in front of your eyes. And having that adorable tortoise face staring up at you, asking you to let her out? Priceless.

I have an RES(red eared slider turtle) and I fed him a feeder goldfish the other day. He dropped it behind a rock and instead of being a dumb animal(like a dog or something) he didn't try to get at it from the side he dropped it in, he moved around and got it from the bottom corner. The way he did it would have made any dog ashamed(at least the ones in my house lol). My russian torts are just as great. Emi is always begging to be let out and then crawls around the floor, checking out all the new sounds and sights.
