First of all, kudos to you for wanting to learn different skills. I like your motivation and interest.
It depends though whether you are asking for 'general skills' or skills as they relate to a particular field.
Well, as far as 'career skills' are concerned....I would definitely learn Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook) as best as I can.
How to make a webpage would be an awesome skill.
Conflict resolution would be a very very helpful skill. That knowledge would be useful anywhere and everywhere.
Public speaking skills.
Learn a foreign language (something popular like Spanish, or French?)
This is what comes to mind right now...

Read books and newspapers whenever u get time.....try to keep a pocket dictionary with u all the time and learn at least 10 new words from it every day ...
For shorthand I would say u can improve it with practice...
