It really depends on your definition of 'equality'?
I am actually all in favour of 'women and children first' in just about any situation, in fact I think we can take the children out of your point altogether , of course children should come first, who could argue about that?
Now the question about equality for women. I am in favour of equality for women in the workplace doing the same job as a man getting the same money, I know that whatever they say that they are the weaker sex esp' in the head!!! An should be protected.
At the same time I also know that women have been involved in warfare for many many years, take the Arab female bombers, or even Queen Boadicea, they know what they are doing and should not expect any different treatment to the men. They certainly don't have to do the things they are doing.
So why are they doing it? Is it to prove a point?
I don't know the answer to that but I agree they should be prepared to take the consequences for their actions as much as the men do.
I don't think your question or my answer will be much loved but this is about looking for opinions , you've certainly got a few to get on with.

You really think a woman can fight in war-zones equal to a male?
You must be delusional.
How heavy is a full kit?
No pee stops neither.
You do know that only few nations in the world allow female frontline soldiers- we are in the minority here- and don't think every soldier is for it either.
She's probably a nurse or a medic- the soldiers were kept as they're combat troops.

All the british media is going on about how she is a mother but there is no mention if the males are fathers. why is being a mother more important than being a father
