Im 21 and I know alot of people at school but these friendships dont extend out of that environment - I dont hang out with them or get to go out, how do I get to the point where I can hang out with people. Ive never dated either, and now Im concerned that after college is over I wont have the opportunity to meet so many people as I do in school- is it hopeless or will I meet the right people once i start working - anyone ever in this situation? what were your experiences? Im a really easygoing and nice person and I know I would make a great friend (i have had friends in the past but lost touch) i thought that college was where i would make really deep relationships. any advice

You are ok...friends are over rated I think anyways..you will be lucky to find one true frind that lasts a life time in your life so not to worry! ...there are people out there that will be your friend once you work...or in the grocery store..library...you will meet people to befriend or a man..any where you go...or go online to some dating service...some are free........you don't have to marry anyone....just see what is out there..I do it and I'll tell you what...there are alot of liars and players and most just want a friend with benefits.....but I just do my thing..live my life and date...I don't have real real real close friends either.. I have a few I talk to and see maybe once a month if that. We talk online and on the phone though and if I need them or vica versa we will be there for each other...Sounds like you did it right...got school done first...SMART GIRL!! Hey join a ski club or a book club...something you like doing and you will meet alot of people doing that!

Some things that might help you...
Join a club or organization such as Big brothers/ Big sisters an animal shelter, or a soup kitchen. What ever it is, it gets you into a social situation but it also helps someone else. You can meet single people at these things as well. Plus you will already have something in common with that person, too. Once you get a job , you can participate in after work related activities. Where my husband works, they have basketball teams that compete as well as softball.
You might want to also try to get in touch with the friends that you lost touch with. They are probably wondering what happened. You can never really have too many friends, plus it will help to boost your confidence socially.

Some people do and some don't. You didn't. Not the end of the world. As you venture out into the working world pursue your passion. Others that share your passion will be with you. Friendships develop for many reasons. Your circumstance in college is not the outside world. Be open to others. A willingness to learn from others is a good bet.

School is only the tip of the iceberg in regards to meeting people so don't feel discouraged if you don't meet anyone that you just 'click' with. Take something that you like to do and just find others who like the same things. Check your school or city hub or (if you live in a small or generic area like I do) just look on the internet or in the personals.

There are dozens of book clubs, dating clubs, sports clubs and gaming clubs out there for you to look at. And if none of the interest you (doubtful) then just ask someone whom you're familar with (preferably someone who is trust worthy) to introduce you to someone.

I agree with the other comment friends r over rated & u shouldn't be too concerned with this. U could however join a fraternity or something.

You sound like you are the true story behind 40-year-old version.....there are a lot of girls out there. Just make yourself more available. Just watch that movie previously mentioned and do what he does, just don't let it take 19 more years.
