Why is it that there are so many people who ask/answer questions in the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual and Transgendered section that are homophobic and go on about treatment and hellfire.

You would think that if they hated it that much and thought all gays and lesbians were 'wrong' and 'bad' they would stay away from it.

Is it that they are curious or are secretly stuggling to come to terms with their own sexuality?

2 Good 2 miss - I can take someone having a different opinion from me. I dont need the constant agreement from others to support my self esteem. I am not a dictator of a small country, I just asked a question!!

I think some just like to see the replies when they bash our community. They like the attention. That's all. They are just bored and they get amused for the simple fact that so many people answer their questions because they are only meant in hate. These are the same people who are amused by simple things. Like rocks and wheels. Maybe a twig or a piece of wrapper off some candy.

Nope..... There are alot of people on here who ask questions or reply to them just to get a reaction.... which in most casses it works because people like you put pointless questions like this one on here because your trying to hard to be liked by everyone so they have done their job of getting a reaction... Just ignore them... its not rocket science. Ops, no best answer for me then.... what the chances of it going to another do gooder that says 'yes i agree, lick lick'.

If you can take a different opinion from your own the you would not have needed to add a reply onto your question that has been asked so many times and so obvious why people do it... Im not against gays/lesbians etc but i dont need to kiss ars*e to all that answer in this section for approval of people you will never know and are not really your friends.

EDIT; unclefrunk.... you make some good points

Seen this sort of question before!
I am atheist so not trying to persuade any one that homosexuals are contravening and religious law!
As homophobic is a word made up by homosexuals to mean 'a fear of homosexuals' I am not a homophobic, I am not afraid of homosexuals, I am also certain that I am not attracted to them , just the opposite in fact! and I'm very sure of my sexuality!
So forgetting any religious beliefs, fear, and uncertain sexuality, what do we have left? Ah yes, the 'treatment bit'
I do not advocate 'treatment' so we can also forget that cant we? Whats left now then ? Perhaps we should all look at the situation again and come to realise that two fellers having sex together is OK in fact it's a great thing, that same sex is the done thing, to see a couple of guys walking along the side walk holding hands and kissing each other is great?
You must be joking????
If you must perform these disgusting obscene acts do it all in private, don't actually boast about it, as far as I'm concerned it's as attractive as watching a dog cra* on the side walk, or getting 'stuck into' another dog!
Hope this helps??

This question or some variant has been asked a thousand times (at least) on here.

The answers are various and depend on the character of the "homophobe" asking the question. Below are some reasons:

1. They are pathetic little individuals who need some sort of response (even a negative one) to validate their existence

2. They are embittered and wish to vent (pick an easy target R&S is another popular target for these)

3. They are genuinely ignorant

4. They are struggling with their own sexuality

5. Their understanding of their religion bids them prompt us to alert us to the dangers of our life choices

6. They are schoolkids having a puerile laugh at something that is R18/R21 (in their world)

7. Tribalism - score points against another tribe and you justify the superiority of your own

I could go on.

Feed the trolls once and they'll come back for more. Don't give them the satisfaction.

EDIT: 2 Good 2 Miss - were it my question you would have been assured the 10!

IMHO I think homosexuality is immoral, sinful, and one step away from beastiality. People can save the "consenting adults" line too -- a brother and sister can be consenting adults.

That being said, I'm not the kind of person that would troll a forum in order to bash them. I don't need to do, want to do, or care to do it.

I have no problem with staying away, consider this my first and last post to this section.

And I'm sure of my own sexuality, thank you.

People are notoriously vicious when it comes to things they don't understand or personally struggle with. This is no different. I'm a Christian and though I don't agree with homosexuality I don't feel need to bash gays & tell you how evil you are. In behalf of Christians everywhere I sincerely apologise for the consistently non-christian attitudes you've encountered in your life from so-called followers of Christ.

I think that the trend that people have instigated upon society is NOT minding our own buisness. They want to talk about everything about everyone. It's gossip, and the tendency to have fun degrading others, with no thought given to doing good. Speaking bad about someone either not like yourself, or hypocritically about someone else is the trend of todays entertainment.

So when you are hearing abuot what a drifty person Brittany Spears is being, remember that. What are we doing spennding so much time on a very confused woman having the worst time in her life? It's almost as if people enjoy a rich persons demise when she hasn't done crap to me!

As I am a Christian, I am also Bisexual. So I get it from both sides. ( lol, no pun intended, really.)

One side wants to lambaste me to stop 'sinning', while the other wants to 'cure' me from my delusions.

Really, I had to get good at writing intelligently in order to defend myself. I hope that I'm good enough now.

The definition of an idiot is someone who repeats the same thing expecting different results. Do they think expressing their view on how repulsive/wrong/gross/sick homosexuality is, that one day, the entire gay community is going to go "Oh s-it the religious right says we're sick and twisted, LOLZ i never thought of that lets all stop being gay guys!". As if homsexuality wasn't a natural, biological thing that has occured since the beginning of history? Apparently they do, because they're idiots.
