Hi Use genuine Ford parts from dealer. This way you know they are not knock -offs. The old bird deserves the best.My good friends 89 Mercury Cougar is still doing well, knock on wood. They do not build these cars as well in to days world.A plastic crap type car is what you get now a days.So good luck on the bird.

i own a repair shop, and i get all my important parts like that from advance auto parts, when you go in just tell them you want the best parts they have ,because they do sell a cheaper brand of parts also, but if that thing has lasted that long id put some good parts back on it,a friend of mine has a 89 model with 489 thousand miles on it,its starting to let go a little bit,but this an idea of how long that thing will last you if you take care of it,good luck i hope this helps.

if you want to keep it all ford, then i would suggest using either motorcraft or autolite.you can get all that stuff at your local parts dept.but if you dont mind using a different brand, duralast is good too.most of that stuff, you can get at auto zone.
