The kanji on Gaara's head means love, because he loves death... or in his case he loves killing, although he didnt kill his parents

It means 'Love' and the Name Gaara was given to
him by his mother after the phrase:-
"Self Loving Carnage" a sign of her Hate for Gaara
Yashamaru, Gaara's mother's brother was his
guardian and after his failed attempt to Kill Gaara
he revealed that he accepted the orders gladly to
assassinate him and in a last ditch effort ask Gaara
to "Please Die" and then Blew himself up,Gaara
survived and realising that no one loved him since
the only person he thought loved tried to kill him
and his father the Kazekage wanting him dead he
used his sand manipulated ability to create the
Kanji on his forehead to signify he was a
" Demon loving only himself."
Gaara's my Favourite character in Naruto.!(^-^)LOL
