Ok, it's not that serious of an issue, I just want to know if I have the right to be angry. My boyfriend had some personal issues he had to attend to this week. Well the issues cleared up by monday so he could've gone to work tuesday and wednesday. He decided since he already had it approved that he was going to take time off anyway (which is fine cause his job sucks!) Anyway, the issue being is that my uncle died last month and was really difficult, I asked him to come with me to the funeral but he said he couldn't because it was short notice (which i understand) and because he didn't have the PTO at work. But this month he can take off just because? What do you think? Do I have reason to be angry or should I just drop it?

We live a life of constant change. Your boyfriend hasn't done anything all that bad. Give him a break. Like you have said, this is not a serious one. We can find many reasons to be angry at our guy, but choose your battles WISELY. Let the 'small stuff' (and this is small) fall through the cracks!! However if he slaps, you, has an affair, kicks your dog, doesn't flush the john, etc. speak up!! Nit picking a guy to death will chase him away...they LOVE the praise, but a man absolutely HATES to be criticized by their girl. Criticism scars a guy...hard to repair.

If he did not have the PTO to go with you at that time, but now has the PTO and chooses to go ahead and use it since he was authorized to do so anyway, then I don't see why you should be upset with him. IF his job is as bad as you say it is, then I don't blame him for not wanting to go back any earlier than he has to. Give the guy a freakin break, for goodness sake.

No - because he really didn't have the PTO. But in this case, the days off were already approved. It's a completely different scenario. Give the guy a break - drop it.

MAybe you are just feeling upset about the fact...YOu have every right to be upset because your uncle died.. I don't hink that he is intentally doing this on purpose to hurt you or just because...You should tell him how you feel and explain to him that you just needed the support. I understand how you feel, my mother died when I was 11 in 2000, but I learned to cope. Women are strong, even if you think that you are not. You can make it without him going. I know you might feel like you want him to go, but since he can't just go with out him, and go in peace. BEST OS LUCK!!!!

Lady, a job is a job. Alot of people i know cant take off of work for funerals like that. Unless its a close relative.
No, you shouldnt be angry at him. Be thankful that you have a boyfriend who has a job and wants to work.

How long have you been dating? He should have gone for support, but if he doesn't know your family that well it could have made him feel very uncomfortable. While you have a right to be a little angry, I would drop it. If his behavior continues though, you may want to bring it to his attention.

i see your point and i would be upset as well... to me he was being selfish.... he probably knew he had that time off... but he wanted to spend it "HIS WAY"
I would for sure let him know that it really upset you.... i dont know that i would turn it into a fighting match though... just talk and let him know how he made you feel and see what he says.....
Remember if he does that kind of stuff now, he's probably not going to change later.... Never Settle.
