Our world has changed. 9/11 brought terriorism to a realization to America. An right now we are at war with Terriorism. Conflicts all over the world. America has men, and women bravely defedning our country. To protect our rights, our freedom, and our liberities. Thus that makes us indiviuduals, and great people. Who help make America a nation, may not be the best, but each and everyone of us make a diversifie country. But as diversitfied as we are we also unite as well. From our shores to desserts, to cold forest areas in Asia. Our governement protects this nation. An we do our part here. But few nations have the great privalege to be as free, and idividual as us. An sometimes the beleifs we beleive that are wrong we have to use to make rights. Like war. An to help free a country like Iraq; so it can experience freedom, and indivudiality. An not be afraid of it's government. Does anyone agree with this statement.

No, I know 9/11 wasn't the first attack of terrirism. But was just saying it made us realize it. Also I know were not free because of our military. Were free because of who we are, and the cohabitation of our government with it's people. I was just trying to realte the military in play with Iraq. An how it is a just cause. Thanks yall for the input so far.

I would, maybe, if it were written a little better. You do realize that "cold forest areas in Asia" aren't actually part of the United States, don't you? You have lots of sentance fragments, misspellings, topos, etc. Your punctuation is awful. You may say, "That's not the point", but it really is. You can't get people to rally behind a statement if it isn't written in proper English.

For the most part, I agree with your statement. However, America has been at war against terrorism for much longer than since 9/11. We have been fighting to keep many parts of the world free, or to liberate them from oppression at the direction or behest of the United Nations since it was formed. What do we get in return for our sacrifices. We get the priviledge of being billed over 25% of the total cost to run the UN and then condemned for not doing enough because our citizens live in "better" conditions than the majority of the planet.

I am at the point that I don't care about the rest of the planet anymore. Next time someone wants to start a fight with the US, I say we use a little of that nuclear arsenal we are currently mothballing. Then the rest of the planet can actually have something substantial to dislike us for, instead of hating us simply for being successful.

irish_american_pyscho is correct!!!

Most people only focus on the "greatness of a nation", the "comfort zone" and don't really care to see the big picture when it comes to the reason for wars...because when politicians tell you the reason for wars, it's usually a lie.

I also agree with you. This country is divided and hate and anger is rising for both sides because the Bush admin and its propaganda media has placed in the minds of Americans that they "sympathize with the enemy" or that they "support terrorists" or that they "don't support the troops" if they don't agree with staying in Iraq or that the invasion was justified in the first place! Yet they say Bush is a uniter? When in fact he is the exact opposite with his trashy words:

"You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists." - George W. Bush

Honestly, why do Americans believe this.

I agree with everything until the Iraq part. After 9/11 a responsible government would done more to secure the borders and revised immigration policies that allowed 9/11 to happen.

I think it is a great statement.

Though many many people on here will say Iraq has nothing to do with protecting are freedom. Just get ready for that.

Iraq has a lot to do with freedom. There are terrorist over there, and they are being dealt with. Many people will say we are fighting sunni and shite insurgents. We are but, a lot of them are associated with terrorist, and recieving weapons to fight us from these terrorist.

I agree our country is great, and are government is here to help us. No matter if is a democrat or republician in office.

People will say Bush shouldn't be in office but it was the American people who reelected him in.

Freedom is a good thing, I was in the military and I realize how good we have it here.

America is a free country, but not because they have a military.

There are other countries who have a military that are not "free".

Just because America has a military does not make them free, they are free because they are not under the rule of a king or a dictator. They have democracy. Democracy makes freedom, Not military forces! Duh!

I think EVERYONE (all countries) should have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of who they love, etc. When that day happens then it will be a perfect world, eh!

Cheers

Does anyone else think its a coincidence that the only terrorism the USA has felt in a long time, just happened immediately after Bush and the Republicans took control?

Here's a theory. The 9/11 attack was sent not by Osama, but by the Bush administration, to instill fear in America and give the government a good excuse to go to war over Iraq's oil.

For the most part I agree except for the first statement. Terrorism has been a reality for most Americans for quite awhile. 911 was only the last straw.
